T100 Goes Wild in Hackney

Start: Hackney Downs Park Pavillion, London E5 8NP

End: Hackney School of Food, Oswald Street, Lower Clapton, London, E5 0BT

A walk along the Hackney Buzzline, an ecological pollinator corridor being created in East London. The walk took us through four parks – all local sites of importance for nature conservation – and three social housing estates. Walkers chatted with community gardeners and other local people creating a chain of stepping-stone pollinator habitats along the 4km route.

The walk was led by community ecologist Gerry Tissier, who created the Hackney Buzzline vision and programme.
