This walk focuses on the town of Stanford-le-Hope, which grew from a small village with the coming of the railway in the mid C19th. The route takes in the 900 year old Church, the home of the celebrated writer Joseph Conrad and of course the Regent cinema, as well as the old market place and the war memorial, before ending in one of Stanford’s historic pubs.
