Dartford Town – Dartford Delicacies!
Monday 16th July 4-7pm
Tea & cake in the park, Dartford Museum, Chinese starters, aperitif with ‘What if ?’ Gallery and Turkish food!
Join us on this friendly guided food tour of Dartford delicacies!
We’ll visit the Central Park Cafe and the owner will tell us about their locally sourced produce, and there will be the opportunity to buy some for yourself, who doesn’t love tea and cake!
Then we’re off to the Dartford Museum to hear a ahort talk by Mike Still on local breweries and the rich history of flour milling in the area, as well as an opportunity to see one of Mrs. Beeton’s original books! Apparently Mrs. Beeton used to live in Greenhithe, a village in Dartford.
In the town centre, we expand to other parts of the world, sampling Chinese starters at Twin Noodle, enjoying an aperitif at the ‘What If?’ Gallery and meeting Beth from micro-brewery The Dartford Jug.
Finally we complete our tour at the newly opened Turkish Restaurant, Efe’s. If you wish you can stay and chat over a Turkish meal and all walkers enjoy a 15% discount, delicious!

- Meet: Dartford Station, 5 Station Approach, Dartford DA1 1BP
- 4.00 p.m: Registration
- 4.15 p.m: Walk starts
- 4.30 – 5.00 p.m: Tea & Cake in the Central Park café. Meet the owner, hear about locally sourced Kent produce.
- 5.15 p.m Visit Dartford Museum
- 5.45 – 6.15: Visit Twin Noodle, meet Michael Chan and sample a starter
- 6.30 p.m: Visit the ‘What If?’ Gallery and meet Beth from micro-brewery The Dartford Jug, for an aperitif.
- 7.00 p.m: Walk ends at Efes, a new Turkish Restaurant, meet Jamal. Stay and chat over a Turkish meal and all walkers enjoy a 15% Discount.

Ferry
Tilbury to Gravesend ferry.
Tilbury sailings are to and from the Tilbury Riverside pontoon, off Ferry Road, Tilbury. On the Gravesend side, all sailings are to and from the Town Pier.
Crossings take between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on river traffic.

Accessibility
The walk is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Thurrock 100 walks are of different lengths and on different terrain. Some are mainly on footpaths, and others mainly on footpaths where ground may be uneven. If this walk doesn’t suit you, there is probably another one that will.
Please note:
You need to choose walks within your capabilities; the walk leaders are experienced but must take your word that you are sufficiently fit for the grade of walk you have chosen.
Walk leaders will be at the start of the walk regardless of the weather. In the unlikely event of any unforeseen circumstances, Kinetika reserve the right to change or cancel a walk and/or performance. Please check the website regularly for any updates or follow us on Twitter or Facebook.
Due care has been exercised in organising the walks, however Kinetika, the funders and associated partners of the project cannot accept liability for loss, accident or injury caused to any person following the routes. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
What to bring
Please ensure that you are properly equipped for all walks. The weather can be unpredictable so bring waterproof clothing and/or sun hats and sun cream – it’s best to be prepared for everything!
Walking boots/shoes are recommended, but otherwise please wear suitable and comfortable footwear- best to leave open-toe sandals or high heels at home. Make sure you bring a packed lunch, if necessary, and plenty to drink.

We will be taking photographs and video of this event to promote and celebrate the project in print and online. If you do not give consent to be photographed or filmed, that’s absolutely fine, please let a member of the Kinetika team know on the day.
