This walk is now over but we have left the walk info below in case you wish to replicate it yourself.
The original walk happened on: Tuesday 10 July 4.30-6pm
Walk Description
Heading out from Southend Central Station we visited Tomassi’s café and met a member of Southend’s oldest family-owned business. After a delicious ice-cream the walk continued down the paved slope to the Observation Tower to take in the views of the golden mile.
At the end of the world’s longest pleasure pier, we arrived at the Royal Pavilion and met Mrs Pat Volante ne. Rossi, who shared some stories of the Rossi ice-cream family and the book she has written. Please note that if you wish to replicate this walk, dogs are not allowed on Southend Pier and that pier charges will apply.
Huge thanks to Tomassi’s café and Mrs Pat Volante, and to Sally Chinea and Hazel Huber for leading this walk.
