The much-anticipated third year of the Thurrock 100 walking festival starts at 7pm today in Horndon on the Hill. It kicks off with a leisurely stroll around this historic village, hearing tales of the colourful inhabitants and its historic buildings.
It includes ‘The Forger’s Tale’ a humorous, theatrical performance of a story inspired by two of Horndon on the Hill’s most notorious characters – William and Lillian Green who under the disguise of noisy parties, forged half crowns. Their final embrace with the law will be recaptured with a large dose of comedic license by The Complete Commedia Company.
William Green is played by the commedia character Dottore and a special song has been concocted for the occasion!

The Forgers Tale is taken from a story in the Thurrock 100 Stories book AVAILABLE HERE.
