A Campaign of Colour: Graffiti Wall Guided Walk & Workshop

Sunday 24 May 2026

10am – 3pm

Join Scotty Brave for a creative riverside journey from Purfleet to West Thurrock, discovering Thurrock’s hidden graffiti gallery – a two-mile stretch of vibrant murals shaped over a 20-year seawall campaign.

Learn how public art can transform overlooked spaces into places of belonging, and that ‘home’ is a place built and maintained over time through collective effort. At the seawall, participants will add their own artistic mark, becoming part of the wall’s evolving story.

A welcoming, social day of colour, conversation and collective expression in one of Thurrock’s most unexpected landscapes.

Suitable for: All ages.

Scott aka Scotty Brave is Basildon born artist, tied to Thurrock through his early studies. Since, Scott has been a consistently active contributor to the scene for 20+ years as one of the pioneers of spray-can-art workshops in the UK.

His impact is even wider spread by his background as a detached youth-worker with schools & youth-clubs, secure-units & PRUs; pioneering spray-can-art within education.

Scott has developed his creative practice with grants and residencies and furthered his field,  delivering workshops for renown spaces like the Tate London and V&A museum.

Whilst working commercially, Scott still manages to paint hundreds of personal pieces hidden from the public & only seen by other graffiti artists, urban explorers or trespassers!

Many of his most notable pieces were created & destroyed within a week. Follow along to catch a glimpse.

At T100 we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint at every level and would like to encourage all people attending our events and walks to use public transport if they are able to. If you need to drive, please let us know if you would consider car-pooling or car sharing.

By bus: The 44 from Grays or Lakeside runs to Purfleet Train Station.

By train: Purfleet and Grays are located on the C2C rail line which runs between London and Southend.

Parking: Limited Pay and Display parking available at Purfleet Train Station. More can be found in Grays town centre nearby Grays Train Station.

The walk isn’t accessible for wheelchairs or large pushchairs due to the mixture of made and unmade paths, steps, uneven surfaces and slopes.

T100 walks are of different lengths and on varying terrain. Some are mainly on footpaths, and others mainly on footpaths where ground may be uneven. We have designed our programme with accessibility in mind so we hope that there is something for everyone to enjoy. If you would like to discuss this please contact hello@t100festival.co.uk

Everyone needs to choose walks within their capabilities. The walk leaders are experienced but must take people’s word that they will be ok undertaking the walk they have chosen to join.

Due care has been exercised in organising the walks, however Kinetika, the funders and associated partners of the project cannot accept liability for loss, accident or injury caused to any person following the routes, especially unsupervised. Participants under the age of 16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

Please ensure that you are properly equipped for all walks. The weather can be unpredictable so bring waterproof clothing and/or sun hats and sun cream – it’s best to be prepared for all weather.

Walking boots/shoes are recommended, but if you don’t have these please wear suitable and comfortable footwear – best to leave open-toe sandals or high heels at home. Make sure you bring snacks and a packed lunch with you, if necessary, and plenty to drink.

Toilet facilities can be accessed at Morrisons Supermarket in Grays town centre at the end of the walk.

We will be taking photographs and video of this event to promote and celebrate the event in print and online. If you do not give consent to be photographed or filmed, that’s absolutely fine. Please let a member of the T100 team know on the day.
