2-31 March – Silk River Exhibition Southend-on-Sea

*Update* Due to adverse weather, the official opening of the Silk River exhibition has been delayed until Tues 6th March 6-8pm.

Having journeyed down the Thames and Hooghly rivers, the beautiful hand painted Silk River scrolls will now be exhibited at the Beecroft Gallery in Southend-on-Sea 2-31 March 2018.  Everyone is invited to the opening night on Tues 6th March 6-8pm (was 2nd March) where there will be a screening of Silk River films by Steve Shaw and Mandakini Menon.

From Thurrock, there are scrolls to represent Purfleet, Tilbury and East Tilbury, with beautiful illustrations of  RSPB Rainham Marshes, Bata shoes and Tilbury Fort amongst others.

They have just returned from their exhibition at the Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata India, and this is a wonderful opportunity to see them up close.

The exhibition is free entry and with all 22 huge silk scrolls on display, it will be a spectacular sight.
