From heritage walks to graffiti workshops, poetry in dye gardens to citizen science at dusk, playful performances to a joyful festival finale in Tilbury, this year’s programme brings Thurrock into motion – connecting where we’ve come from with where we might go next.
For 12 years, Kinetika’s T100 has invited people to explore, talk and create together across Thurrock. In 2026, we return with a special edition of the festival – a journey home.
Over two weeks, artists, schools, storytellers, scientists, poets, neighbours and Thurrock’s next generation will come together to share stories, uncover hidden histories, celebrate creativity and imagine new futures rooted in place.
Whether you’re discovering Thurrock for the first time or seeing it anew, there’s a walk, a story and a place at the table waiting for you.

Thurrock Interfaith group invite local community members to join them on a walk and talk, in collaboration with Thurrock CVS.

A full-day story walk uncovering over 1,000 years of Thurrock’s people, landscapes and hidden histories.
Sunday 24 May
Join Scotty Brave for a creative riverside walk uncovering Thurrock’s hidden graffiti gallery – and add your own mark to this evolving community artwork.

A relaxed evening circular walk through the rolling fields of Horndon on the Hill, ending with live local music at the Sail Loft Folk Club.
Monday 25 May
A circular heritage walk uncovering the traces of Kynochtown – a vanished industrial settlement hidden within Thurrock’s marshland.
Thursday 28 May
A hands-on nature workshop exploring Thurrock’s green spaces from an invertebrate’s point of view.
Saturday 30 May
A gentle poetry walk and creative afternoon exploring place, plants and stories in Purfleet.
Sunday 31 May
A playful, performative walk blending story, sound and spectacle along the Thames Estuary.
Mon 1 June
A gentle, sensory-led walk and movement session exploring mindfulness, breath and awareness through walking.
Tuesday 2 June
An evening wildlife walk in Chafford Gorges with the RSPB, combining swift-spotting with hands-on citizen science.
Saturday 6 June
The celebratory finale of T100 2026 – an afternoon of making, performance, food and conversation in the heart of Tilbury.
Sunday 7 June
A Pride walk along the river followed by a community picnic celebrating connection, visibility and place.

It’s packed with ideas, prompts and guidance to spark your own activities and creative responses. Everyone is invited to take part – creations will feed into the festival finale, a joyful community celebration bringing together twelve years of shared stories, walks and creativity. If you’re dreaming up an idea, big or small, we want to hear from you.
Help create a set of serviettes featuring wax rubbings collected across Thurrock. Using natural and man-made textures – from pavements and railings to leaves and bark – we’re gathering impressions that tell a story of place.
Join a regular walk or create your own using a free resource pack that includes everything you need.
The finished serviettes will be used in the community meal on 6 June 2026 as part of A Place at the Table: Celebrating Our Community.
